Self taught artist Therese James was born in Wales and has been painting since 1993. She claims to be from the Naive School, an art which can't be taught. Wales is a major source of inspiration for her, not only through its landscape but also literature, cultivating a naive and joyous style with the paintings showing much more than first evident. In this naive cacophony, a ton of details are hidden. Strollers fly in the wind and push cars around, making it seem easy.
In a more abstract and expressionist style,her pictures depict landscapes filled with passion and energy. She paints according to her instinct, and the end result confirms this. Therese has been selected for the "Welsh Artist of the year" and participated in exhibitions like Royal Welsh Show and The Eisteddfod National to represent the Countryside Counsel of Wales.
